The New York Film Academy in Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Film Commission has launched a new screenwriting competition for short films, open to all GCC residents. Film enthusiasts are invited to submit scripts of between 5 – 10 minutes related to either ‘revenge’, ‘crime’ or ‘experimental’.

The winning script will go on to be made into a short film by Emirati film director Nawaf Al-Janahi, and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission will promote the film in international film festivals across the world. The winning script writer will also win a four week scholarship worth $3,700 to study digital filmmaking at NYFA Abu Dhabi, starting on 1 April 2012.
