#soleofthecity : Dubai’s iPhonography | Instagram Competition

PIPER, the Middle East’s only social relaxation drink, has launched #soleofthecity - an iPhotography | Instagram activation, in collaboration with thejamjar gallery, iPhonographer Hassan Kiyani and SOLE DXB – the Middle East’s Sneaker Summit.

Use your mobile phone to capture the soul of the city in a single shot that represents urban Dubai to you.

Then share it on instagram with the hashtag #soleofthecity, and the #soleofthecity judging panel will select the finalists to be exhibited at thejamjar from 28 May – 6 June.

“iPhonography and Instagramming is an exciting movement that is really taking off and being recognized as a bonafide photographic art form in other parts of the world. #soleofthecity is going to help foster that here in the UAE,” says Hassan Kiyany, an award-winning Emirati filmmaker and leader in the field of iPhonography. “The beauty of the Instagram platform is that it is so accessible. Professional photographers and casual iPhone owners just snap their daily environment as it unfolds around them. The competition brief is sure to produce some amazing photographs.”

“I think what’s going to be fascinating is the range of photographs that are going to be entered in #soleofthecity, as Dubai is a city of visual, architectural and cultural contrasts” said Guy Cornet, one of the founders of PIPER.

The competition is open to the public from 27 April – 17 May and all submissions must be taken on a mobile phone to qualify.
