'Me, My Film', the first standalone mobile film contest in UAE is open for submissions
The 'Me, My Film' mobile film competition, launched by The Sandlash Project, encourages creative minds to pick up their mobile phones and tell their story in a 3 minute movie, in a first of its kind competition in the United Arab Emirates.
This competition targets amateur filmmakers from all backgrounds and age groups from around the Middle East. It encourages individuals to tell their stories in a short film that will be voted for by the general public on the competition website. This project aims to provide a platform to the hidden talents of the region, and showcase their talent. Equipped with enthusiasm, creativity and a smart phone anyone is eligible to enter.
“The main idea behind this project is to take moviemaking to its natural next level. It was the domain of professionals; however, film making has taken a giant leap forward with the proliferation of smartphone technology. Every individual can now express individual creativity.” says Sandhya Unni, founder of The Sandlash Project.
There are several categories under which the short movies can be uploaded.
The grand prize winner and category winners will be awarded cash prize worth US$2,500 and other prizes respectively. The Top 15 contestants will be informed a week prior to the final event. Their movies will be judged by a panel.
