An informal presentation in the lounge area of A Building. Four illustrators will share their sketchbooks with you—flipping through and discussing inspiration, technique, development of ideas. They will take questions, give tips and give you an inside look at their creative process. Refreshments served.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATORS
Raymond Prucher is an artist, illustrator, graphic designer, writer and educator. He holds an MFA from Stony Brook University (USA), and a BFA from Southern Illinois University (USA). His work includes installation, sculpture, painting, drawing and digital media. He has exhibited in France, Palestine, the UAE and the USA. A book of his work, Jenin ImPrints, was published in 2006 by Color Gang Edition, Givors, France. He currently teaches as the American University in Dubai. www.kholdesign.com
"When the new world order burns, they will quote you" - UBIK, b.1985 is an Indian artist living and working in Dubai , UAE. His work charts various mediums and is heavily influenced by Film, Beatnik / Gonzo literature, Music, Street art , Anarchism and Existentialist thought. His work urges the viewer to explore their reactions and emotions in a cynical , yet often sarcastic and humorous way. The core of UBIK's work deals with the relative ideology of chaos in the form of an absurdist playground, and the underlying cliches associated with mankind.
From New Zealand, Stefan Messam studied at Massey’s College of Creative Arts graduating with a Masters in Design. Teaching in New Zealand for 5 years he moved to the UAE in 2008 where he teaches Art & Design in Zayed University while maintaining a thriving freelance career as an illustrator. Illustrating and drawing is his passion, dedicated to exploring the limitations of the discipline and challenging perceptions of this field. He uses a love of music, film and books to fuel his inspiration and provide new cues and ideas, and immerses himself in the visual environment. www.skkm.net
Liz Ramos-Prado is a Peruvian professional Graphic Designer, working as an Information Graphic Artist Editor for Dubai Media Incorporated in Dubai. She has been awarded by Society for News Design for her work in infographics and design for Albayan Newspaper. “Most of my personal illustrations are focused on feminism, and on the exploration of a personal reflections of life, but also I like producing conceptual illustrations which can depict social or political issues. I enjoy going from one medium to the other; pencils, acrylics, digital painting; it depends on the quality or feeling I want to give to my illustrations.” www.onemoreillustration.com
