Art workshops for children

Calling the young budding artists of Dubai!

This July thejamjar is offering a creative arts workshop programme designed to develop the artistic skills of children aged 5-12 years of age. Over four weeks the programme will focus on drawing, painting, mono-printing and collage, ending with mixed media – each workshop building on the techniques learnt the previous week.

At the end of the programme each child will have a varied portfolio of artwork complete with a visual diary, encompassing different styles and techniques while having a fun and creative experience.

The full package includes one workshop a week over a four week period for a total of AED550 per child. For weekly bookings there will be a charge of AED170 per child.

Week 1
Monday 4 July, 10am – 12pm

Drawing workshop: This introductory class will touch on the basic elements and principles of art taking you through traditional drawing skills like cross etching, lines, dots and experimental drawing of the 21st century. 

Week 2
Monday 11 July, 10am – 12pm

Canvas painting workshop: A dose of art history and the study of 20th century masters will equip you with the techniques and brushwork needed to create your own masterpiece!

Week 3
Monday 18 July, 10am – 12pm

Mono-printing and collage: Discover the exciting processes of mono-printing and collage to create unique and imaginative works on canvas

Week 4
Monday 25 July, 10am – 12pm

Mixed Media: Develop artworks from movements in 21st century modern art, from realism to abstraction, using multi media to add surface texture and different dimensions to your work.
