This panel brings together four of the central figures in the development of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, a museum that will be at the heart of the Saadiyat Cultural District in Abu Dhabi. Featuring Frank Gehry and Richard Armstrong, this panel will explore the remarkable architecture of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi alongside its established mission and vision to promote the understanding and appreciation of contemporary art, architecture and other manifestations of contemporary visual culture from an international perspective; to support a transnational curatorial programme of art and visual culture from the 1960's to the present with a strong focus on the Middle East.
